Recorded along the Bayou Vermilion in pure analog format at beautiful Dockside Studios in Maurice, LA this album captures the unique and soulful character indicative of the Lost Bayou Ramblers' well-honed deep roots sound. The raw and raucous texture of the Lost Bayou Ramblers combined with the rock recording sensibilities of Recording Engineer and Producer Chris "Frenchie" Smith (The Bubble Studio - Austin, Texas; Production and Mixing for acts such as Jet, The Meat Puppets, and The Dandy Warhols) come together to produce a full-length album that is steeped in tradition while forging ahead with an unabashedly original sound.

ETHEL MAE BOURQUE
et ses chansons de la compagne
(Independent, 2006)

Ethel Mae Bourque is a piece of living folklore. Her mind holds the secrets to a kind of Cajun lifestyle that has virtually disappeared in the 21st century. In an isolated corner of Vermilion parish, 72 year old Ethel lives a self-sufficient lifestyle, raising her poultry and tending a garden. Friends and neighbors stock her freezer with wild game and seafood from the parish and bring her basic groceries. Her radio and her repertoire of a cappella and original ballads satisfies her entertainment needs. All proceeds from the sale of this CD go directly to Ethel Mae.
